I'm looking for any zen like advice that helps me find will power. I love he idea of triathlon and need to work out how I walk past the pub and go for a run/swim/bike session first.. Any ideas ?
I've signed up for uk 70.3 2014 (drunken bet) and should probably actually do something to prepare
As the pirates seem to use the words beer and tri in the same sentence, I think I'd definetly like to be one and assume someone out there must have the same challenges..

You need to get into a routine - convert some drinking mates into going out for a bike ride at the weekend maybe ?
Thanks cougie, that makes a lot of sense.. I've started looking around the local area.. Just can't find a website for a club full of fat people with low lung capacity ..

Can anyone recommend a good tri club in Essex.. I'm between chelmsford and billericay. Due to my inability to walk past a pub, the closer the better..

My Essex geography is somewhat rusty with age but isnt there one in Dunmow?
Look on the BTA website that should list you all your locals
Failing that I'm sure there are also some good pubs in that area
Never deny yourself, I had a pint just before London tri one year, did me no harm, 4 or 5 would definitely have had a detrimental effect though.
VT'd - that's not a problem, only lived in the area 6 months, but have then well mapped out
