Tuesday 22nd May 2018 I keep a close watch on this heart of mine

alehousealehouse ✭✭✭

Morning!

Lyrics: I keep a close watch on this heart of mine

What: Pilates type day, or rather evening

Why: not pushing my luck with running, yet

Work this morning, test marking this pm. Looks like a promising day weather wise, but fresher following thunderstorms.

Progress is rarely a straight line. There are always bumps in the road, but you can make the choice to keep looking ahead.

    Morning.

Yesterday's lyrics - Go The Distance by Faith HIll.

No thunderstorms here but it's breezy.

Is it the calf bothering you Alehouse?

What:            whatever the legs are up for/maybe gym
Why:             I've asked a lot of them lately/need to go at least once a week
Last hard:     sleeping - another rough night
    Last rest:      4/5

    Lyrics - yes.
If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.

Everything is almost ok, LMH, but don't want to cross that line! Calf feels considerably better; Achilles has occasional niggles; back largely behaving. Aim to be back running more regularly by the weekend.

    Morning all,
    Lovely bright start in London.
What - club night 400,300,200,100 with same recovery x 3 sets
    Why - make me faster...
last rest - couple of weeks
    last hard - last night.
    Vets league match 2 (Winchester)
Given we had a faster V50, I opted for the 800 'for fun'.
Ran a pretty even race and although I didn't expect to challenge last season's 2:28 I was more than happy with 2:31 taking a couple in the final 200. Think I was 76/75 so about right.
15 minutes later was the 3k which I thought would be a good 'steady' run. On the way round the track, passed the sandpits so put my name down for a jump (non scoring again), and advised I may miss the first two rounds. Legs naturally a little jaded off such a short recovery so plan was a steady sub 4min/km pace and see what was left. Fairly consistent and always felt comfortable, although there was a slight wobble going into the last km. 11:42.2 which was OK I guess - I would hope to be sub 11 on fresh legs.
Short 1km recovery then had a couple of plays into the sandpit to get a very easy marker for the season ahead. Great fun!!

Sounds good Alehouse - and very sensible.

It feels positively cold out in the wind - I'm currently defrosting after Grace's walk and trying to persuade myself that I do really want to go out and run. The gym and a swim feels like an enticing alternative at the minute - but wouldn't be as good for my Yeovil chances.
If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.

Cross posted with Dustin earlier - I must admit you do make it sound like fun. Unfortunately the only local club that I know of that does track and field is rather serious and expensive or I might go for a play.

Your Bristol trip does not sound like fun DD. Are you thinking maybe an end of season HIM?

It was a MLR in the end SC. Tomorrow will be shorter as work stops play. Don't think I'm going to make the gym today (have the joys of a webinair starting in a few minutes) so must try harder on that front tomorrow. I think you were allowed a day off after your weekend exploits.

Decidedly chilly feel here earlier chicksta due to the wind. We are forecast a few cooler days but unusually picking up for the Bank Holiday weekend.

You can keep the rain thank you Poppy!

Glad you and OH enjoyed the run Wabo.
If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.
