Friday, 22 February 2019 - Deep on the bosom of the gentle night

Morning all :)

Well done Hazel.

Ale: 1965!! I wasn't even born then and I'm not exactly a thread youngster ;)

No early running career for me. I was an unsporty, lazy kid and hated athletics. Loved gymnastics though.

Let's see what this tired body is up to today. I just wish I could sleep like poppy, if only for one night :)

Yesterday's lyrics - Marching On by The Alarm.

Me too chicksta though I did have a better night last night. Hope you've enjoyed a run.

    Why:             London/necessity

    Morning!

    Lyrics: no

    What: possibly 5k

Why: bus, train, tube to Hyde Park. Last Friday of the Month 5k at lunchtime, not that I will be running it hard, if at all. Chest is considerably better but won't be wise to run hard whilst still on antibiotics and steroids.

Enjoy your day and weekend everyone.

Unexpectedly cold and foggy out this morning - I'm giving it some time to burn off/warm up before heading out.

Hope you have a nice day Alehouse.

    Enjoy the easy lunchtime Dustin.

    Afternoon all,

After a week of work and life interfering I got out for a run earlier! Hooray! It's definitely a habit, and one that I'm not in at the moment. So I got up, put kit on, walked dog and drove to work. Did my laps around work before starting work. Nothing getting in the way today.

I joined RW in July 2010 when I started running. Been off and on since then.

Poppy - you asked the other day if I was following a plan and the answer is no, not at the moment. I plan to build back up to running 5k 3 times per week and then start to lengthen one of those after 4 weeks. Then I'll add in some different sessions.

    What: 3.1M
Why: It's the distance I do at the moment
Last hard: Went harder today than planned, but still not hard.
    Last rest: Yesterday.

    Happy Crunchie Friday everyone!

Managed a typo in my lyrics. It's supposed to be in not on :)

Hope it warmed up for you, LMH. I started with 8 degrees and then the cold
air rushed in and it was 4 degrees when i came home. Brrr.

Ale: sounds rather complicated. Hope you get there :)

I managed 12 miles. Body and legs felt fine but I was incredibly slow. Anyway, miles in the bank. I rather feel good at a shit pace than rubbish at a fast pace.

Volunteering at parkrun again tomorrow as they're short of marshals. I'll never get my 50 tshirt this way :D

Good on you for not letting anything get in the way today Alex.

    OW swim OH?

I was fortunate enough to have the time to wait for the fog to go chicksta so whilst not as warm as yesterday it was milder than first thing when I ran. I'm with you all the way - outside of a race I'd rather enjoy a run.

Interesting to read people's running histories.

Hope you had a good time at LFOTHM Ale and were able to run or could otherwise enjoy the occasion.  Good you are feeling better already.

Glad that the fog has gone and it has warmed up for you to run in the meantime LMH.

That Dirty 30 looks very nice OH.  I must get to Scotland again soon!  I am lucky to have such excellent access to the Alps but Scotland is something else.  It is hard to find that level of raw and uncivilized (??) country here.

Good you mananged to fit in a run today alex.  Your build up plan sounds good.

Well done on the 12 miles d&d Chicksta.  +1 to the shit pace and the fast pace.

    Good sleeping Wabo.

What: 6km recovery in a while
Why:  shakeout the legs, good start to the weekend now work is d & d.
Last hard:  not getting overstressed at work today but all has gone well (end of month financial procedures...)
    Last rest: 17.02.

    Afternoon!

Heading back to the tube, then train bus post rehydration after LFoM.

    What: 5k in Hyde Park.

Why: I had entered. Very pleased with 22:59 on my watch. As we all know that will tick over to 23:XX on the official results no doubt. Pleased because I ran well within myself on a not particularly quick course. Obviously antibiotics and steroids seem to being doing the trick but would have been silly to push any harder. Will be very disappointed if I can't run a minute or so quicker come May or June.
Edit: wore shorts and vest for the first time for two years!

Not a bad result Alehouse! Hope you enjoyed the day out.
