Tuesday 16th May 2023 You got to have a dream

alehousealehouse ✭✭✭
Morning!

Lyrics: You got to have a dream,
If you don't have a dream,
How you gonna have a dream come true?

Line three onwards.

What: short run, long stretch

Why: Tuesday

Plus cross training in daughter's garden plus Salvador sitting.
Progress is rarely a straight line. There are always bumps in the road, but you can make the choice to keep looking ahead.

    Morning

Have fun with Salvador Ale.  You can sit and watch the grass grow maybe.

Hope travel is going well Els and OH.  Ouch to the nettles and electric fence Els - don't know which is worse.  Shame you won't be able to meet up with your friends.

I like the post box challenge Emz.  Not much of a challenge here - next one is about 500m away - there is one in the whole (small) village.

Easy effort sounds good whilst you are building up Pammie.

Legs are recovering well, just a slightly tight left hamstring, likely from when I slipped off a kerb edge. Can hardly feel it today now.

What: might jog a bit later, otherwise more walking
    Why: recovery
    Last rest: 15.05.23

Lyrics: no, yesterday's were Crying in the rain, a-ha.

Well I've got 9 postboxes so far and all are within a mile, so lots here too.

Did 7.5 km run walk on the track with a few 100m sprints thrown in. I may not have the long distance speed anymore but I can still sprint and it feels amazing whizzing past people!

Then squash tonight if my friend manages to book a court (double sports day!).

Off to my first face to face work meeting since May 2019 when I went to a conference in Vienna 22 ish weeks pregnant!

Hope E isn't too ill with COVID els ans oh and you get back safely

    I know the lyrics today.

Hope everyone has a good day.

    Afternoon!

    Enjoy the club session Dustin!

Hope you get to squash, Emz. Best part of 50 years since I last played! Probably not a good idea to start now!

    Enjoy whatever, Hazel!

    What: just over 40 minutes

Why: enough, after an hour in daughter's wilderness. Long stretch this evening.
Progress is rarely a straight line. There are always bumps in the road, but you can make the choice to keep looking ahead.

Go well this evening, Wabo! Which league is this? Is there still an Assembly League? Lost touch!

    Oops, I missed posting yesterday.

Great race report Hazel and well done. Perhaps a clever thing to put those marathon demons to bed.

    Good luck, wabo.

Enjoy squash, Emzap. I played regularly when I was younger (in the 90s). It's fun.

You're always so busy Els and OH.

A little over 10k for me trying to outsprint the rain and failing.

    No idea about lyrics today.

Well tonight I had my first ever (pretty sure) dnf..
I was well at the back with a tail runner, really not feeling it at all, if the tail runner hadn't been there I might have pushed on but I just felt crap.
    Hey ho.
It's not a league ale, just a stand alone thing
I just hadn't eaten enough and did too much today. Better to drop out at 3 miles
I need to read back about your friend ale
Had bad news about one of mine today
    Anyway early night for me
