Monday 22nd April 2024 We fired our guns and the British kept a-comin'

Morning!

Lyrics: We fired our guns and the British kept a-comin'
There wasn't as many as there was a while ago
We fired once more and they began to runnin'
On down the Mississippi to the Gulf of Mexico

The chorus!

Yesterday's were The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down, originally by The Band but the Joan Baez version is better known

I hear good things about the Chester Marathon, Emz

What: a few stretches, perhaps a little exercise bike

Why: very limited at present.
Progress is rarely a straight line. There are always bumps in the road, but you can make the choice to keep looking ahead.

    Morning All
Ale - ticking over nicely. Did you say you're all done with the jabs?
    Super time from LMH too!
Many of our club athletes have good for age, with 2 getting club places and around half a dozen through the ballot.
Emz - I too have heard positive things about Chester - think they ran the England Athletics Masters Champs there last year/year before. Abingdon is also October (near Oxford). I'm resisting the urge to enter despite two of my village group ladies running...

    What - Easy London miles
    Why - legs heavy
    last rest - 21/09
    last hard - weekend
lyric - not so sure today

Yes, hopefully the jabs are finished,  Dustin.  Will be around six weeks before we know if they have helped.  And I wish was ticking over nicely!

Chester is again the Masters championships. October 6th. Link below:

    Morning everyone

I'll post a more detailed report when I've recovered a bit more, but managed to finish yesterday in 3:57:56. Hamstring caused serious pain from mile 6 onwards and I've been struggling to walk since

Didn't get to meet up with LMH unfortunately. I'd missed the train I intended to get so was a bit later to the start area than anticipated

Still in London for now, home tomorrow. I'll try and post again later

Almost feeling tempted by another marathon as well, but only almost..

Well done on the sub 25 emzap.

    Nice long run Dustin.

Good news on the mileage Pammie.

    More patience needed then Ale.

Travel went fine, now in the Peak District. Bit grey and drizzly, perfect cave and tea room weather! Tomorrow should be better.

What: bit of walking, morning 4 miler to check out places were people used to live
Why: do a bit of running and sightseeing
    Last rest: yesterday
