Help needed with registering

I will be travelling down the M1 on Friday morning to register and then carrying on to Cambridge on the M11 for Friday & Saturday evenings.
The plan is perhaps to leave the car somewhere in the Potters Bar area and go in by public transport to register.
Can anyone advise on the best place to leave the car? - somewhere close to the M25 would seem ideal. Any other suggestions would be welcomed.

Incidently - best way back to Cambridge from there is to go back up the A1(M) to Junction 9, take the A6141 to Baldock and then the A505 to Royston and then the A10 to Camrbidge (but you knew that anyway, right?)
No Tim I didn't know that - I am a hayseed from up country.
This will also make life easier going to Cambridge afterwards - you just reverse the last bit of the journey, and you can then easily get onto the M11.
Given the present state of the underground I am sure it will be easier to do it this way, and avoid the long tube journey from North London.
