Dudley Kingswinford RC support this race every year, as do all local West Midland Clubs. Last year's photo's can be seen on the website www.dk10k.co.uk Russell Mapp tells me that the course is worse than he's ever seen it, so be prepared, and please wear fell shoes and not ordinary running shoes, or you won't get round. See you all Sunday.
Thinking of coming up for this but whenever i click on any of the details on the Ludlow website all i get is a blank page (can load last years results so do not think it's my PC). Is it definately okay to enter on day and is the start ie Moor school easy to find
Hi Steve, Everything is on the Ludlow Runners website. If you still can't get directions, have another look at www.dk10k.co.uk under Race Diary where you can download an entry form or email me which again is on my website under contacts.
I don't like spikes personally, but yeah anything is better than road shoes. It's all on muddy tracks, except for a small piece of tarmac at 7 miles (water station) Look out for the switchbacks at 5 miles, certainly a shock when you see them for the first time.
Yes see you tomorrow Shaw. Remind me to give you a Calendar. I spoke to Richard Baker, and he said "What do we want with a Calendar" I think you will like it. We at D.K. have sent our to be printed with proper hanging hooks, and we have ordered 50 at first at £5 each.
Looks like I'm home and in one piece. The course was very muddy and difficult to run in places. I was running on my own from 2 mile upto the switchbacks which caused me to slow down and lose some motivation. I managed to finish 10th in 1h15m so I was pleased.
Only injuries were cut heel from shoes rubbing and a graze on knee from falling over on first hill.
All in all great race, good views once we got out the fog and good organisation.
Well done Ludlow runners.
Brian: Could you let me know when you receive results. I need to let Richard know our times for the league. Shaw
Well done Shaw. I had a disaster. I was alright until 5 miles but could feel a pain in my right buttock. As I progressed it got worse, eventually the whole of my right leg was a dead leg. I just walked back from 6 miles to the finish. Tried to run but couldn't. I even fell on that slippy grass descent at 8 miles right on my arse where it was sore. I think I'll retire gracefully and keep to photo's. Regarding the results, Russell only had them in paper form, and there were no names on them just numbers. It'll take him a couple of days to do them, but I think it will be a week.
Very muddy wasn't it? Why do I keep comong back? Fell on my bum at the first downhill, but apart from a sore hamstring today I survived ok. I seem to get slower every year as well. 1.42 this year!!

I like these tough races, I hope you all do too.

Sorry to hear about your disaster but don't let it put you off the running. Well done for finishing.
