Just had a look, its £106 plus whatever bike costs or £122 business class + 9000 Avios points, think ill go for the latter if it means I dont have to pay for the bike. Will join GB in the lounge.
now the idea of Barley and GB in the business lounge together pre flight .....must have the rest of you ever so slightly worried
GB, how many points did you have to use to get it for £25? The least it will let me pay is £122.
Also is the extra bag for silver members or a business class concessions?
I am using a bike bag so will stuff my race kit and a T shirt, shorts, espadrills n toothbrush in with that its the south of france what else would i need

Thats vs £106 + £68 for 2 bags standard class (though I think I could manage with one 10kg carry on bag)

Barlos - I'm travelling with the plebs I'm afraid down in cattle class. It was 9000 points and then the reward saver flight. I get two suitcases as I am a silver tiered member. It currently says on the booking that they are 23kg each, but in the baggage rules it says that silver tiers get 32kg per case.
Barley I am on the same flights as you as well!! This could be dangerous!

Ah, I see its the Silver teir that gets you the lounge access and luggage upgrade. Quite frustrated I never got Silver teir despite flying to the USA most years.
Think ill go for cattle class, its only 2 hours and the business seats on short haul arent worth the extra cost. A bit of sensible packing and ill manage with 1 checked bag.
and for those on or near the Flight of Doom, you can get a £28 room at the Travelodge the night before and additional parking for £52

RBM (and Barlos) fair play to you for doing it without a suitcase. I know I can't get my luggage weight down enough for that. I think I was quite lucky though as I got my flights for £157 including the bike by jumping online as soon as I got the mail from Easyjet.
Are you flying out on Thursday too? We may have our own little flight of doom in the South West.
Yep thursday at 7am ish as its supposed to be warm i will not be packing to much stuff Plus you can stuff a fair bit of heavier stuff in the xcabin luggage
All looks good for you frequent flyers! I'll be heading south early in my 'van'. Raf has bagged a bike room, but I'm sure there'll be other room if anyone wants me to take any 'reasonable' luggage!!

I may not be leaving quite as early as I'd anticipated now! I had planned on going out late May early June. However, my bike 'training' seems to be geared towards the last 10 days of May now, so I'll be coming back early June from Paris. I'll need to 'check in' with 'Her Majesty' for a few days before I drive back to France!
The general plan, when I go out again, is to drive down to the Ardeche for some warm weather aclimatisation before heading on to Nice to co-incide with everyone else's arrival! That would mean leaving sometime in the second week of June.
Well its just cost me £287 for my flights with easyjet. They appear to be the only flights that go direct from Edinburgh. That's about £100 more than I was expecting
Just booked the flight of doom.
Decided I couldnt mange 1 bag as the times my hold luggage has been light its still been 12kg and ive also had a rucksack with me.
Will see be in the lounge with GB, spending a few Avious it was cheaper to book an upgrade than have to add £68 for extra luggage. Not forgetting the FREE BAR
Might be worth looking at this upgrade lark later in the year, if only to keep an eye on the gruesome twosome
I believe Silver tier BA Club members can sign up to 2 people into the Louge, dont know if that if theyre also flying Club? Vice versa ive booked Club Europe but not sure if ill be able to sign 2 into the lounge as im on a Standard tier member. Would be good if we could sign in 2 each.
