Sounds like you had a good one. In the event I had to work this morning so would've had to pull out anyway. Not sure that I would've managed 65 undulating miles either - not been beyond 40 yet but need to rectify that in the next few weeks.
We had a jolly good time. Though I must admit to only 36 miles!
Really shows the base fitness of the "uber well 'ard" Ironman. Although yes I did Whitedown ;O), I knew what to expect but overall, every time there was an up, I was blowing like a locomotive whilst Kanga gently sniffed the summer breeze... And we even stopped for a coffee! which was terribly civilised. The rest was flattish as it was not meant to be a climbing session but hanging on to 19-20mph on the flat run to Ockham/Ripley left a pair of sore legs on my part the rest of the day.
Deffo again sometime soon.
Trogs, come along next time. Last time we did a group of 9, some of us had to walk a bit. Smiffy laughed mind...
Meldy - well spotted, you're @rse is grass and I'm the lawnmower
Translation - decided that the 'last Pirate to finish/get around' glory is even more over rated than training, and I want a proper time not a DNF next time around. Tough call, but means I've got to drag my butt out a *bit* more often. Mind you we did have a coffee stop ....

Got any dates in mind for the next one. I do like to plan ahead. 19/20 mph on the flats sounds like fun. That's my normal down hill pace!
Missed you all by a day - went to Box Hill for the first time on Sunday - yummy lemon cake!
Might try and join you on a future one though.
Box Hill is worth it just for the cake!
Marmalade and poppy seed is also very nice, as is the carrot cake
hmmm.....that's reason enough to go again!
I sooooooo enjoyed having a lovely cold coke there as well......<happy sigh>
