It is in an open air lido with 100 other people plus support crew. I doubt it will be boring as the support will be amazzing, but it will be bloody hard work, cold and painful
Dorkey question, sorry Caz, but is it really 24 hours of continual swimming, with no breaks? What happens if you fall asleep? Tons and heaps and more tons of luck, you're an amazing lady to even consider doing something like this, let alone actually do it!
we could come up with an escape plan, possibly a niche cottage industry. Would there be much call for synchronised cheese delivering chicken herders around your parts? It's the ability to synchronise the chickens that would bring the big money in I think.
An excellent plan, but with a but. Chickens like cheese . A LOT. If you mix cheese with chickens you just get chickens. Big, big chickens.
Not a continuous swim. I do 1 mile per hour. When I get to the end of the mile I get out, eat, drink, try to keep warm and maybe get some sleep. So roughly 35 min of swimming and 25 min of 'rest' per hour, for 24 hours.
If I fall asleep then my buddy, Katrina, will kick me hard and shout in my ear. I will be taking a lot of caffeine on board to help me stay awake. Katrina's job is to count my lengths, prepare my feeds, help me get dressed, push me back in the pool at the end of each hour and look out for signs of hypothermia. She's a real bully and I think she will enjoy being nasty to me. Mind you, she also has to put up with nervous and moody Caz, which is no mean undertaking.
I've just left the car in the garage new clutch on the way.
I'm having difficulty typing today as I was cooking away merrily last night and using my brand new sharp as a razor mandolin - and now I only have 9 fingerprints. *ouch* I neatly sliced off the top layer of skin off my middle right finger...the kids walked in as MrGFB was applying the bandage - it looked like I was disrespecting him
Thanks, Ouch GFB, at least it should be a nice clean precise cut to heal quickly. Blunt knives make a worse cut because they tend to go deeper and leave jagged edges.

Wow. Not often I'm speechless. Wow.
Thanks for asking Hash - I was wondering too (and had visions of SC peeing in the pool )
That's just awesome SC!!
Go Caz!
All the best for tomorrow S-Caz
Blast those cheese loving chickens, you'd think they don't want to be commercially desirable!
Good luck SuperCaz.
DS
Yes tons and tons of luck Caz. What time do you start?
Best of luck for tomorrow Caz, I don't have your mob number but will be cheering you on from the sidelines.
MrKJ is home, to celebrate Mini puked all over his beautiful wooden floor, my best saucepans and her wellies. She was distraught about the wellies!
(((KJ))) I'm loving the tales of Mini, excellent.
(((SCaz))) Best of luck today, you'll be great.
(((Hash))) Tea's up.
My sourdough starter is frothing nicely, so either breakfast or a handy doorstop will be in the mundane kitchen tomorrow morning.
Happy birthday Saffy, have a lovely one.
Caz, what you're doing is amazing, will be thinking of you x
Fank you I am awake rather early due to a dog needing a wee
Hash, is it easy to make a sourdough started? I must admit Paul Hollywood made it look very simple (and sexy)
Game Face Caz, will you be able to check in?
Happy Birthday Saffy, have a lovely day.
Yay! Happy Birthday Saffy.
A lucky guess.
Happy birthday to Mr P too xx
