Many thanks to both Mouse and Barlos for the organising- I thought we all scrubbed up rather well. Another vote for repeating the Pirate gala, if only to try and avoid finishing dead last in the IM.(I will try to improve my fly).
+1 for above comments! Thanks to Mouse and Barlos! I won't complain if next year it's in Bristol again! The leisure centre was fantastic. Can we please book the 'island assault course' next year too? The kids looked like they were having too much fun! I'll have to do some swimming before next year though. Dropping 15 seconds from the heats to the final was atrocious!
The base was so heavy in the bar that you could feel the baloons vibrating when you picked them up!
Soupy and I found a cafe where you can book a Christmas Breakfast party. If we do Bristol again I think we might have to add that to the list of events for the weekend. Loved the format, and next time I might be organised enough to make an effort with dressing up.
Thanks to Mouse and Barley - what a great weekend. The swimming was great fun and really must be an annual event. The buffet and evening bash was great, sorry I got a bit antisocial towards the end, I lost my voice trying to talk above the music and it hurt (so I had to resort to quietly drinking beer) . But I had a lovely evening. Special prize to Raf for the fancy dress although all the blokes looked propper dapper.
Breakfast in the cafe this morning was a bonus. £5 for full fry-up, tea and juice.
I'll be very interested in following Caz. It was lovely chatting to you last night and I still can't get my head around swimming for that length of time. Bonkers!
Lovely to see all, thought everyone looked most dashing!
The GPO and I were speculating on this this morning and we wondered about Sheffield/Leeds way, but it will be what I will be. I am happy to go anywhere
We discussed this on the train today and we think, for what its worth, Sheffield, Edinburgh or Dublin.
I think what we need to think about is where has a large contingent of pirates and where has a large contingent of pirate that go to the Christmas party, which makes it quite difficult to see anywhere other than that there London Town (and this is from a northener)

Are you sure that was the reason?? Nothing to do with the double room??
Thanks Mouse! Great night, although my head hurts a little today!

I think Schmunks did!

Back up north after a fab weekend. Great to meet up with everyone.
Thanks to the lovely Mouse for organising a great night.
Guys, by popular request, I am setting up a blog. I need a snappy title. Anybody good at marketing?
Ok, I've given it a go. Feeling really nervous about going public with this

can I just say again what a great weekend we have had.
And Mouse I have been called many things in my time, but the "nicest smelling" is a new one, thank you
i liked bristol as it had good links to everywhere and wasn't too expensive.thats to the organisers.a cracking weekend
Ooh, now we're talking -
Can't wait
How many early nights were had last night then ??
If only... I was at the theatre last night, but partially caught up by sleeping through the alarm this morning (ahem), early night tonight I think.
I tried, but kept having nightmares about Schmunk's wandering hands!!!
Anywhere in Sydney is fine with me for 2013, you lot best check the last train home though
At least we'd get a seat on the plane, unlike Last WorstWestern. Chances of getting upgraded to first on the way there are minimal too...
Early night last night, still tired today!
That'll be the dancing! Tiring stuff!
I see no one managed to stay until the bar closed then !
