The GNR marks the end of racing for me for this year (apart from a couple of Harrier League x-countries) – I’ll be taking it easy(ish) for the rest of October, including a week in Pathos.
Then I’ll be starting my base training working on distance and strength 2x4-week cycles
You all make me feel tired just reading your posts.
6/10/02 GNR 9/11/02 Cheddar Half And, er, that's it. Might do the Telford 10K on 22/12/02. Otherwise just lots of nice training runs. And carbing up afterwards with Christmas pud and custard.
Caz I'm a little running crazy at the moment. I wouldn't normally run so many races in succession, but there is just so many good ones at this time of year. I will have 1-2 days rest before each one and might not do all of them.
It's kind of my challenge for the year after a disastrous summer. Then a well earned Christmas break!
Hilly, good luck in all of them. Myself I find that I need a good few events to be in otherwise I'll get lazy, plus I use them as my long runs as I usually head home after 10 mins if I'm out on my own. But best bit (one of the bests bits) is meeting you all on them and having a good chin wag and laugh!
Not much excitement for me I'm afraid. need to finish the draft of my entire thesis. Running three times a week is all I can manage at the moment.
However... I've heard about a Forest of Dean half marathon in March next year - sounds nice, as it's on trails - so the thought ofthis may have to keep me going.
I haven't got much planned for the rest of the year - 20th Octo - waterbeach 1/2m cross country league races and probably the road relays. Going to have to rest my leg (first possible major injury in 7 years of running!!) after the waterbeach - assuming that i make the start line.
