at least it was dry for me, but i came up with a neat trick....
i always seemed to go faster on a twisty stretch than a long straight, i thought it was the surface, or the shelter (lots of trees) but actually it was because the long straight was demoralising - so i worked out that if i looked at the computer instead of the horizon on the straight, i stopped losing speed
i decided today to ditch the 10 mile loop and try to find a 30 or 40 mile loop... a bit of a change of scenery
but you were looking for a flat bike run - you should come down one weekend - i'm not too far from peterborough now you could book your bike on the gner east coast line
Can you explain something for me? To lose weight I understand that you need to have a deficit in cal intake. This can be done by increasing excerise and/or decreasing cal intake. Resulting in the body burning fat stores. But you're saying that Carl needs to increase his intake to lose more. Can you explain why increasing intake would help lose more fat/weight. I'm interested in this as I'm not exactly a mountain goat.
I think you have mis understood WW he was saying, I think, that to fuel your body for the training to do Ironman Carl will need more calories. This got mixed up with the fact that carl id losing weight at the moment. Carl seems to have got it about right for his current situation. He says he is losing weight gradually and he is not feeling over tired from it. I suspect that most of his training is low intesity and therefore his intake is being subsidised by his stores, which is ideal to lose weight.
