Game over all too soon for me, I'm afraid. Think I chose the wrong pen to start from (1hr10?!). Started off & jumped in to be immediately landed on. Couldn't get a clean stroke in at all. The ones in front were too slow (feet in my face) and the ones behind were crawling all over me and I got dunked and punched more times than I care to remember. Lots of water swallowed and thought I was drowning at one point. Managed to swim over to the side to try to catch my breath, but even that was a struggle too. I expected some biff, but thought it would ease after 500 or so metres, it didn't. Every time I looked up I was struggling.
It was always going to be a very long day and I guess my heart just wasn't in it! I had looked forward to taking the piss out of crap swimmers! Guess I'm one of 'em now!
If I'd done the training I'd have been gutted. I'm just disappointed and feel I've let myself and some others down.
No miracle for me today, just a bloody expensive back pack! Thanks for your thoughts though!

according to the tracker mr Funkin, goldon boots, Orange cannon and flyaway are all past the 144km on the bikes and are flying
