Pete, your safe with me, as a data collection person, I name my activities. If nothing else it allows me to compare activities to check for improvements.
lol...thanks everyone. But it's for your own good. When you check back in a couple of years, if you've named them, you'll be better able to remember what you did and then compare to your current efforts...
ElBeanpole - having "lost" a few runs that's what I do pretty religiously now. It seems to work. (I think if you download the activity before you turn the Garmin off it'll be okay but I really am no expert).

I've named my activities.....yesterdays ride to work was Fred and the short ride home was Wilma.....that's right isn't it?
I cant find the leaderboard *cries*
I haven't looked, but I won't need it, can't remember when I've last done any exercise that counts.
The leaderboard is on the garmin connect phone app, not on the website.
As an engineer I spend most of my time winding up data managers, so I'm glad to see that Garmin Connect is consistent with the rest of my daily life
Ah, so that explains the "Yesterday, FF rode for 30 minutes on Wilma" message on the screen.
I've only just noticed the app on my phone!
phone app? might have to try to find that. Leaderboard? don't think I will be on it but might be fun to look
naming activities? Bit of a faff to do to be honest Pete but I might do it from time to time....
oh, ok, pete - just for you I have named some

thankfully I only have to worry about G&G types. Engineers are of no interest to me
For those of you with a 310XT, do you have to reset the time screen when you've finished for the workout to save to history?
Used my new one for the first time this morning and it hasn't saved - but the miles are still logged in the totals.

Thanks, I'll make sure I reset it as a habit now then!
how reliable is the max speed when cycling? I got a max of 67km/hr on the bike section...I felt quick on the downhills...but that's just silly!
are garmin's prone to exageration?
Sometimes it does silly things but I have done 70 odd km down Beacon Hill - and I think that's about as fast as I'd be okay with doing
That's a bit over 40mph - definitely possible on a decent downhill.
Just got a garmin edge for my bike and requested to join group on connect
There is a couple really long downhill section and I checked with my other garmin and it also has a max speed of 67kph so it must be correct.
Is your Garmin using the GPS or the GSC10 bike sensor for the speed...i found the speed was about right with GPS but spot on with the sensor.
Is the Garmin group playing silly buggers with anyone else tonight?
Im not skiving haha, my Ant+ is on the fritz, should be back up tonight.
Hi,
Just sent a request to join the group.
Your in.
Welcome Gom.
Not sure what's going on with Garmin Connect tonight, it keeps logging me out
They proberbley don't want you Trogs
Just have to start doing something now!
