Ah. I see. I only asked because I thought I recognised the statue from when I was in Bergerac this year. In the future, if ever I see someone in yella n black with a huge sozzled I'll assume it's you
its too early to start excuses dave. my plan is ironman staffs and bolton. the post was a community effort for the audience at large.
as its either iron staffs & bolton OR outlaw half and full due to dates.
and lastly, I suspect i have to shed the timber before another outing - a key lesson learned is having the OH onboard early as late awareness and the consequences did prove distracting - being less lardy should mean a finish and no risk of being dead on the course.
Iv enough thinking about a half by the end of the summer 2016 but don't really want to commit until my wifes given birth and I can see how it effects training will there be any Midlands/ Yorkshire based halves that still have availability with Dec or Jan?

In the full photo I'm standing beneath the statue, 2 great Parisian lovers....
Oh and I only race IM in yella & black, More usually in blue and black of my club
I've been researching full triathlons as I've only done a few Olympic and 1 half distance , so looking to do my first full distance. I wanted to do half this year, but social commitments have got in the way of training and the races I wanted to do. This looks like a very well organised event with good support coming from spectators. If I'm going to do one full distance, I think this one ticks all the boxes for me. Can't believe I've just registered my interest for the full Outlaw - gulp. I'm no spring chicken and am biting the bullet while I think I'm in with a chance of completing it. Need to dramatically improve on the bike though!
I really don't know if I'd be capable of finishing that in 11 months time.
At the minute I'd be fine completing the run (not sure about after that cycling though) this morning I did 1500m in the pool in 45 minutes but not consistent breast stroke and my longest bike has been 40 miles but its not fast I average about 12 miles per hour (although most of my cycling is in very hilly Derbyshire, around Matlock ect). I'm just not sure that I would be fast enough on the bike, I first started cycling about 2 weeks ago so I suppose I do still have a big learning curve but I'd have to DNF.
You may not get into either of these races next year unless you pre-reg. This year the number of places left for general entry after the pre-reg days were negligible. If you think you might want to do it, pre-reg. You don't have to go through with it when entries open.

Cheers for the advice, I've pre registered then I'll see how the biking goes over the next six weeks, I just don't have confidence in my pace at the minute. I can run up hills faster than I can cycle.
Ditto Simo429, but I figured I've got a year to get stronger on the bike.
If you'd told me 6 months ago I'd even be considering this me and everyone else who knows me would have called you mental. My big worry is the wife being 7 months pregnant and having time and energy to train, I'd hate to sign up and then not give it a proper go but the way round to neglect the baby because I've committed to this.

Why don't you join the 2016 Pirate trip Sgt ?

Dave, I've been meaning to ask, is your Avatar a statue of Cerrano de Bergerac?

I've put my name into the hat for the half too.

Likely to be in for the half. Gutted I had to pull out this year
Pre registered for both will decide nearer the time but IM Wales id the focus for 2016
Pre-registered for the full - third time lucky to make the start line.
DNS 2010 with Achilles issue - 2015 with a broken collarbone!
Pre-registered!
I have pre-registered for the half. I would love to have a crack at that.
Does pre-registering virtually guarantee a ticket or is it still very difficult/luck to a place?
I might pre register for the full, but need to check how close it is to Lanza first!
Lanza is in May the outlaw full will prob be end July usually week after imuk
Likely around 8 weeks MC
Lee, no, it won't guarantee you a place
OK... have pre registered.... 8 weeks is enough to only feel knackered, and not sore!
