All the 12 IM finishes allow you to do is enter the legacy ballot. If your application is unsuccessful in any given year you have to have completed an IM in both the previous 2 years as well as have an IM entry in for the forthcoming year should you wish to enter the ballot for the following year
Fingers tightly crossed it works out for ISB, however I fear it could turn into the London Marathon 5-rejections, where demand eventually outstripped supply, unless they increase the number of legacy slots each year
They might increase the numbers now the lottery for places has been stopped
I think they will have to do something if they want the legacy ballot to continue. When Barlos qualified there were 150 eligible for the first year. They awarded places to 100 and then guaranteed 50 for 2014.
I am imaging they can't make those guarantees if the number of those eligible increases year on year.
On checking the qualifying criteria I can see they have tightened it up a bit because Barlos only needed to have finished one race in the previous 2 years. Now they are saying you have to complete as least one race in both of the previous years
Just entered the Chester Deva standard distance event. My 2nd triathlon and first at the standard distance. I'd planned to enter Chirk but it falls at the end of the school half term and we could be away on holidays.
It was my first standard ALGiff, great race and superb organising team
That's what everyone I've spoken to about the event told me. As a Chester resident it would be rude not to enter. I've also swum the Dee Mile the last 2 years and ridden on the most of the bike course road so know what to expect. Just hope I can keep count on the multiple laps on the run

I will be taking part in my first ever triathlon in London on behalf of Bloodwise next year https://bloodwise.org.uk/event-challenges/do-triathlon/london-triathlon really looking forward to it; I was told to experiment with training first thing in the morning on an empty stomach. I have seen a couple of articles online which also advocate this as well, for example, http://fitness.mercola.com/sites/fitness/archive/2013/09/13/eating-before-exercise.aspx
This is going to be a major challenge for me but as it is a cause that is close to my heart, hopefully this will keep me focussed and motivated.
