How Come?

bin diagnosed with COPD but how come I am not anymore out of breath walking and running than I have been for years nor most peops?

cheers moosey -that sorta suggests the early stages. I get outa breath when I have a bad chest or was heavy on fags but it aint constant whatever the weather.

Are you still free from the smoking?

If so, couldn't it simply be that you are reaping the benefits of lungs less clogged with tar, etc?

yip themo and good point. As a smoker i did not suffer much breathlessnes -only to be expected.

COPD is graded in "stages", Hoose. "Chronic" just means "long-term" in this context.

D'you know what numbers you got on your blowing test?

no but they said it was lower than it should be. I think I got 400 on peak flow(I was smoking though) -that's about it. told me to see 'em agian if I get any yellowy greeny browny type stuff come up but I aint had that. gotta get a check in May:O)
