It's all about the fit. The shape of Giro helmets suits some, Bell's others.
They are both (and add in the other main players too) essentially all going to do the same job in absolute terms, but only if they fit well. So in my case all my helmets are Giros, (Atmos and E2s) as they are a great fit for my bizarre head. Once you choose the range based on fit, then choose the model based on venting and I suppose colour if you have to.
Frags...you are allowed to as your hair is normally a bit on the girly pink side....
Apparently the Giro I have makes me look stupid but nobody either noticed before or saw fit to mention it...
I may have found somewhere in Aylesbury (not too far from work) where I can try on the Bell and the Giro...so I may go tomorrow at lunchtime....even though i should be training...
I recently bought a Giro Monza and am very happy with it. V comfortable, and for someone who sweats a ridiculous amount it actually stops the sweat running down into my eyes. (I was expecting to have to get the vaseline out on the eyebrows...)
Ya see. All you need to do is get a Pro Tour ride. Get selected for Tour. Win yellow jersey. Easy...
There are pics of people racing tris with their helmets on backwards. V funny. And I did see someone with it on backwards in London at the weekend. (not one of the pros though !)
Comments
- Bell seems to fit my big head better than the Giro
- It comes in Yellow!
So far it seems fine, keeps my head cooler than my old mtb one, thnakfully not found out if it prtects my head in a crash!

Spiuk will do it in yellow if enough of us order...........
It does look good tho'....
did ou know that if you wear a helmet more air is pasted over your head than if you don't due to the vents!!
amazing!
and I'm afraid I bought it in girly pink [hangs head in shame]
They do it in Halfrauds
