help!im running my first ever race on sunday(glasgow 1/2 marathon)ive only been running about 6mths and only just done 12miles in training last week the trouble is i had a blister on each foot so do i put talc on my feet or vasaline which is best?
also is it best to take some energy drinks(red bull or powerade)before running.
one more thing if it is raining do runners put on a waterproof top or still run in vests?
i would be very gratefull for some info as im a total newbie........

try not to worry too much, things will fall into place tomorrow. Its definately trial and error with regard to blisters. Don't drink anything tomorrow that you haven't tested in training. Run in a vest/t-shirt/whatever you're comfy in. A jacket won't help if its peeing down. Above all, have a great time, you've done the training! You'll be on a high after the race!!!! Good luck! Let me know how you get on.......
Also suggest you don't blast off at the start ... stick to your planned pace and let those with hot heels zip off. You'll meet many of them later around mile 11 !!
Good luck ... & enjoy it ...
im nervous already but looking forward to the day..hope this is my first 1/2 marathon of many....but i seem to be getting fatter instead of fitter!
Fantastic effort though!!
It was gorgeous here today for the KRUF 10K,maybe you should move to Wales
You've made a big difference already & you're an inspiration to us big beginners.
Show's it can be done! Enjoy it!
