Timex watches at Argos for interval training

Hiya, I'm looking to buy a timex watch at Argos for interval training. I'd like to be able to set a countdown for say 5mins running then autmatically go into a countdown for 2 mins and then loop. It would also be nice if it beeps when it changes intervals.

The descriptions on the Argos watches do not give indications to any functi ons such as this, has anybody bought a Timex watch from Argos that does this? If so which one, would you reccomend it?

Two I have in minde are:

I have a Timex Ironman watch and it has interval timers that do exactly what you want.  I think both of those do as well.

Not all Timex Ironman watches do that. Some only have one countdown timer. Do not make an assumption.

The feature you want is a "multiple countdown timer" or "interval timer". The 2nd model says it has a countdown timer, but only that it can countdown & stop, or repeat. The first doesn't mention a countdown timer at all. Of course this could just be Argos being pants at writing about the features being as they are not a specialist retailer.

Is there a reason why you especially want to get one at Argos? If not I would recommend looking elsewhere - I got my Timex Ironman Sleek 100 (which does what you want - you can set up to 9 different intervals!) from Start Fitness. I actually called them up & spoke to them to make sure I got exactly what i wanted. They were very friendly and helpful.

If you do have a reason for choosing Argos, then you can buy one, check it out & return it if it doesn't have the features you want (just be very careful when getting it out of its packaging).

Thanks for that EC, wise words, I wanted Argos as I could go down today/tomorrow to buy one, however if the one you mention does the job I'll look in to getting one of those, thanks for the response on that, it helps to know what other people use and whether it works for them.

     Thanks

Sorry to bring up an old thread. I would like a watch that does exactly the same thing. I'm thinking of introducing some interval training into my weekly routine.

I don't want to spend a fortune so with that been said, what's out there and at what kind of price...?

Ok.... I went for this in the end

Timex IRONMAN Triathlon 50-Lap Sleek Watch Chronograph Blue.

I payed ??28 for it brand new so in my opinion a bargain. Looking forward to receiving it and starting the interval training.
