Aviemore half marathon

Seeing as no-one has started a thread. i may as well.

 First off,

I would like to thank god that it didnt rain,  although it was windy it didnt interfere to much with the race, seems like the problems from last year were ironed out and for me it went like clockwork, the buses done thier job and the rest seemed to follow, slight change of route this year and with the new cycle path open it meant that the road didnt need to be closed, which im sure the organisers were happy about, the gates on the cycle track are obviously there for a reason but they did take your pace/stride from you when trying to negotiate them, and the finishing straight although a bit shorter than last year, it was certainly easier on the feet.

All in all another well organised event and for sure i will be back next year. Thanks.

Oh by the way 1:38:03 according to my garmin. 30 secs slower than last year, but after my mare at the start of the week, im delighted

I thought it was a great race and def. has to be one of the most beautiful I have done.

Incidentally my chip time is two mins more than my watch and nike plus time.  Anyone else get a different chip time?

Yes i had a difference of 30 secs, and my friends also had time anomalies

My chip time was out by 38 secs., it was the same time as my Gun time which was an impossibility.   I crossed the start line alongside a girl that I recognised, over  the finish line together, 3 seconds diffecence in our  Gun times 40 secs difference in our Chip times.  ??  Other than that it was a great race, the wind didnt seem to cause too much havoc and the bus system this year was spot on - no problem.  Will be back for the 4th one.
