Thorlo socks

I wanted to order some Thorlo socks online (can't get to a running shop in time) for hubby's xmas stocking but am totally confused. 

Why are they called light weight?  The worn-out holey Thorlos he has look like the Thorlo mini crew light weight men's running socks on various websites - but they are far from light weight (they are much thicker than my running socks).

Which Thorlo socks do you all find best (or is there only one type and just a confusing name?).

Thorlo 'light weight' are the thinnest in the Thorlo range - the others require you to buy your shoes a size bigger. That's my understanding anyway - and I wear them! Lucky hubby

I love Thorlos and yes the lightweight ones are quite thick..........the thicker ones look like they should be used for walking boots

Both my OH and me use the Thorlos ones..............but I have failed to discover the difference between their male and female socks

Those are the ones I use sometimes. The "light weight" could mean that the top of the sock, where one doesn't need cushioning, is a thin naterial. The heel and the toe area underneath are much thicker, with cushioning. It's hard to see that in the picture.
