  • Is anybody doing all three?
  • tempted at all three, once you've done box hill the rest will be easy...

Fuzzy Mike, weren't you an eagle once?

The three will be a great run and certainly not as hard as others that might happen around that part of the world image

  • Mm.mm it certainly is a tempting challenge, i am cycling Lands End to John O'Groats starting Sunday, i will have lovely strong legs!!!! A big head start on some hill training.

Ooooh Kaye did that about 7 years ago.  it was so much fun.  Are you LEJOGing or JOGLEing?  image
  • Hi Happychap! Are there some previous results for this event or is it the first time it has been run?
  • Happychap, great name by the way!! i am LEJOGing!! How did you get on when you did it?
  • HappychapHappychap ✭✭✭
First running. Were organising for a local charity, the QEF so all proceeds to them.

We JOGLED. It was amazing. It's easier to get on the bike each day than you think. But if I could give you one bit of advice it would be 'take bodyglide or some other lubricant'. If you have any questions feel free to PM me :0)
  • hey thank you happychap!! i have shares in vaseline which i found quite good when i was training. good lucj with your running,
  • Oh crikey HC. You don't arf organise some tempting events!

BTW - am hoping to JOGLE next year - must get together for a 'strategy and training' coffee session!!

Limps (insert big smiley) yes be great to get together and will respond to your e-mail. Down in Bognor soon so will try and sort a meet out

    HC. x
  • It would be great to meet up HC. Let me know when you are down here.
Off to the New Forest 10 tomorrow - yippee!!
  • Looks like a fun day out. What is the closing date for entries?
  • HappychapHappychap ✭✭✭
We'll close it about a week before the event date.  Unless it fills up before then image
  • Hchap

indeed, i was an eagle, though i'd be less formal...

i'm still thinking of tackling it on my own, the route looks awesome. want to run each section, even the stairs (done a few times before, ouch!)

will individual runners run exactly the same course as the teams (after each hill return to HQ and head off again)??  And will there be a time limit??

  • Can't decide which one to run so looks like its all 3...  Wouldn't want to miss the stepping stones, or flying down Burford slope, or the tarmac, or the easy peasy bit at the end image And it is only once  up the steps.....

You guys are giving us some great events - thanks for dreaming them up image

  • HappychapHappychap ✭✭✭
You guys are nuts! No cut off time and yes, same route as the team one. We've got a new website up soon hopefully and will have gpx files for you to download so you'll be able to follow the route on your Garmin.

Had a meeting with the Queen Elizabeth foundation (the charity benefactors)this evening. They're very excited and I think it's important to reiterate that ALL proceeds of this event will go to them this year. So if you could spread the word us and them will be most grateful :0)
  • Excellent - Banstead born 'n bred me so I know of their work. Really good that the smaller charities benefit from these events.

Do individual entries get a bottle of wine or do we wait for 2 more nutters to come in and share ?image

  • HappychapHappychap ✭✭✭
Individuals get a bottle of beer so it depends on what floats your boat LL.  Mind you, it will be proper beer not that fizzy stuff! image
  • bottle of beer - i'm sold!!  gonna have to do it individually now.

LL - glad i ain't the only one mad enough to be considering going solo

  • Well, can't say beer does it for me - I be more of a cider drinker but if I make it round 15 i really won't care as long as there's alcohol of some description on offer!!

Don't wanna be short changed FM, could be a nice paddle to start if the water's high enough. Will need the other 2 legs to dry off on image

New event website now launched here.  First peeps are starting to enter.  image
  • Just stumbled across this race while having a look round the trionium site and I have to say I'm tempted to have a go at all 3.  Even with the extra couple of miles it's got to be easier than the Munro.

Might not be in the best shape as it's only a month after a 3 week trip to India but I'm sure I could struggle to the end somehow.  Could always treat it as a training run for the Knacker cracker.

  • Yes shiny much easier (although you still get the famous stairs) the bits in between the hills are flat. image
  • if i recall you have to do the "stairs of pain" twice in the munro, thankfully it's only once in the 3M.

how quickly is this likely to sell-out??  haven't done a lot of distance runs due to injuries, want to sign up if i get 'round the badger half in one piece next month.

  • Entries are coming in FM but you should be ok until after the Badger
  • Really tempted to do all 3. Did the Badger half so cant share the race after doing that can i? Would like to train for it properly tho .So may leave it untill early November before my entry just to make sure i can make it around without the help of a local ambulance. Is it likely to sell out before?
  • Hi Roy

You should be ok to wait until then... image  Good luck with the training.

  • With the 3m event this weekend i wonder how many people are now signed up to do it solo. In a moment of madness i was one of 'those' that did. It's quite local so really excited about getting to explore more of my backyard.

Best of luck and see you all there.
  • Hi Simon,

Many more than we originally thought.  image  See you on Sunday.
