Sounds good Groder - how long did you maintain running at 9km/h for?
Many improving runners find it helpful to either set a goal to pursue, or to take their running outside (and lose some of the boundaries or restrictions of a treadie in a gym). Going running with other runners is also very helpful for continuing to make progress rather than plateau.
Where could this new found love of running take you? New body shape, a race finish, setting a new world record, being the fastest runner at your place of work?!
@Groder - for how long (distance or time) did you run at 9km/h? For example, I can run at 13km/h for 42.2km, but I can also run at 19km/h, but only for a 400/500 metres.
Or was it that you run 6.5km in an hour now you are up to 9km in that same hour
Just trying to get some perspective on the statement.
Everyone to his/her own but I do find the challenges limited on a treadmill, plus there is more chance of repetitive strain injuries cos the running isn't varied enough.
Yes everyone to their own - I am not competitive, I run to keep my weight down and my figure trim, and have to say have never suffered an injury on the treadmill.
Although i can't say the same about not having been injured on a treadmill.. i split my neck open and had to have it glued back together.. got a nice jokers smile running along the bottom of my chin now..
thought it was hilarious till i stood up and my friend pointed at the skin haning off my neck!

Thanks guys
Inter - what do you mean for how long?
