Orthopedic shoes

Hi,

I've been trying to get back into running since taking an extended break due to work commitments. I was a fairly decent competitive runner throughout my twenties. Now 34 and have been having a very hard time of it. However, I think I've found out why. Went to a sports masseur who told me my left leg is 3/4 inch longer than my right. This explains my awkward gait too! Have since checked it out with my doctor who confirmed it was the case and that it is anatomical not functional. The masseur said that was responsible for my problems, including plantar fasciitis in the foot of my shorter leg. Therefore I was wondering if anyone knows of any orthopedic running shoes I can get to help sort this out, and if anyone has experienced similar problems generally?

I would advise visiting a establishment such as Profeet in London who can do a full biometric accessment and build you inserts or shoes to resolve your issues.

Best to see a podiatrist as you can get orthotic insoles custom made for your shoes. That way you can wear them with any shoe and not need to spend more money on custom making shoes!
