Garmin 405 Battery Life when not in use

I fully charged my 405 about 12 days ago but haven't used it since. It's now giving me the low battery warning. Why does it run out so quickly when not in use? Is it still searching for satellites or something? I would have thought it would simply be working as a digital watch and last almost forever...

The watches just aren't designed to work like that.If you took GPS off,  it would last a bit longer, drop down the background light etc.

Is the 405 very different to the 305?  I didn't use my 305 for 7 months while I was out with injuries.   First time out, switched it on.....full battery

Really?  Why not?  That's mental !!!  Why would you want to leave it on all the time?

It's like a digital watch, on all the time. If it was turned off I guess the time would need resetting each time it's used? I don't know why this functionality uses so much of the battery though.

Having the same problem with my garmin 405, the battery life has been jumping about a bit on it as well, goes from 50% to 15% in about 20 mins, my advice is to keep it fully charged
