Microsoft word/hyperlinks expert

I am trying to insert a web page link into a word document for work and the only way the link works is if I right click and "open hyperlink"

Is there anyway I can sort this so that it just opens without this extra step?

I've tried Googling the problem etc and I can't find an answer.
