It seems that people who have made it through to bootcamp in the 'other' competition are finding out now and don't seem to have been sworn to secrecy this year.
KK - I think you're onto something. Asics have Bud Wiser, Sam Murphy (as in stout), Steve Smith* (as in John Smith's). Maybe that's the key to being selected - you have to find the secret link.
morning all...so wonder why the secrecy has been removed about the bootcamp.......
at least those chosen have started posting so should be more footfall on the forums which should please those who have got bored with their threads and want excitement in their lives
Nah, Seren - those that complain just like the sound of their own voice. They will never be happy. They will always find something to moan about because it gives them the attention they so desperately crave
Err long list 30-50...only seen a couple who might have made it. Might have to pitch here again on the off chance or even mentor. Want a GFA but also pace 8mm up to mara so bit of a paradox I know, but it's the ageing process
Although it does remind me, if anyone is lurking on this thread and has desires to become a mentor in this next few months then please let me know Also any of this years mentors and followers of the threads who have someone in mind who would make a good mentor then please let me know and I can use my powers of persuasion
reading back through my thread though i wonder how she coped..i went out for one long run and miscalculated it and ended up running longer than marathon distance
i tried Straycelt honestly.....I did the run with my OH who was not amused when we were 14 miles into the run and we calculated that it was at least 12 more miles if we completed the circle........or 14 if we retraced our steps
T-mouse - normally a pitching thread goes up after the asics 6 have been announced. Pitches are collated and judged by an external person who has no involvement. Successful punters are then matched to mentors and threads posted on the marathon page. Then the fun begins!
Found this thread after Minni kindly posted about it on the Target 26.2 thread. I'd be very interested in this and I'm sure alot of the other bootcampers would too.
As I understand it, this is a forum supported parallel of the ASICs competition, correct? I assume this is for a spring marathon too then and I guess we can pick any one?
