I have regularly visited these forums and enjoyed the reviews of UK events but I have missed an international overview of marathons, in particular because I really enjoy the "weekend abroad incl marathon" concept.
Up came the idea for RateRuns - a site where marathon runners rate the marathons they have participated in and influence and inspire others.
Take a look at RateRuns HERE and rate and review the marathon you like the most or would like to share your opinion about. I - and many others - look forward to your input and join the race(s) you enjoyed the most.

Marathon tourism.
26 miles of concrete and tarmac only more expensive.
🙂
@Sussex Runner, will definitely consider Milton Keynes but in order to give this race some more attention, please leave your rating here http://rateruns.com/?p=593 to help people in their decision making between Barcelona, Dubai or Milton Keynes
He doesn't need to put it on your site.. He has put it here and that is good enough
Just tried to get on that site and it is blocked by works virus filter - must be dodgy!!!
Went to review Liverpool but its not on! Richie.
The best event is Comrades, hands down!
How do you beat 54 miles through South Africa with a million people lining the route to cheer you on?
Think I'll have to find a website where other people rate races I haven't done before. Wait a minute. I know one. RunnersWorld.....
;-)
Thanks everyone and agree that the co.uk version of RunnersWorld is great for UK races reviews/ratings (just like the .com version is great for the runs in the US). What I find missing, however, was for example input and ideas for Copenhagen v.s. Stockholm marathon...etc.
Richard Harrison 17 - Liverpool has been added to the site. Here is the link http://rateruns.com/?p=795 , thanks for the tip
Two new ratings/reviews up on Liverpool Marathon (thanks if it was someone from here) and today new ratings and inspiring reviews on for example Dubai, London, Marrakech and more.
Look forward to see more ratings on www.rateruns.com which will inspire people to participate in your favorite marathon
SR,
Milton Keynes, seriously the best??????
Got to disagree.
I did it last year and whilst the route was OK and given the weather support good the finish was rubbish (cf Reading's stadium finish) organisation was pants and the wait for baggage at the end was awful.
First "Hidden Gem" marathon has been added to RateRuns - http://bit.ly/UYoCsC
I see a flaw in your thinking.
The person who has run them all may well give a fairer view than the person who has, say, only run Milton Keynes. But, it's just one person. Do we really trust their judgement that implicitly? I think what we have to wait for here is for all of the people in the world to have run all of the marathons in the world first. Only then will we get the cross-section of opinion that we need here.
Having said all of that, i'm still fairly certain it will be Milton Keynes.
