Brighton 10K - postal strike affecting getting your race number

Hi there, just to update you. I contacted the Secretary of B&H AC this morning who said that as far as he knew they were not doing 'pick ups' on the day. However, if your cheque has been cashed then you are definately in. I was given the number of Chris Carter, fixtures secretary (available from the web site) and left a message for him. Will update you when i know more.

Can anyone tell me though, what time the race starts and from where please as i know i'm not going to recieve my number by post and will have to try getting it by other means. Cheers.

Jon, the strike may be over but Royal mail say it will take between 2-4 weeks to clear the back log of mail.

bummer people... So if they are not planning on doing 'pickups' then how do they plan on managing the fact that no one has there number! Friend at Royal Mail says that they are looking at a 2 week delay with more action to come - GREAT !

Might be easier if you arrange one pick up if this is what is needed. As I said in another thread I am more than happy to do the pick up if someone arranges this with the organisers.

Might be a case of giving him a list of names so the numbers can be sorted.

Just to update you all.

I spoke to Chris this morning who feels certain that everyone will get there number in time. They were all sent out last week or so.

However, if you don't get your number and you know you definately have a place ie booked online/cheque has been cashed, then you will be able to pick up a replacement number on the day by the organisers.

Glad he's a lot more certain than I am. I got my first item of post in several weeks last night - one bit of junk mail about internet access. Very useful.

I'll give him a ring on Monday if it still hasn't arrived. Anyone found an email address for him?
