Foot niggle

I've been running really well recently, knocked a minute off my parkrun PB at the weekend, but I appear to have picked up a little niggle.

I have an intermittent ache on the top of my right foot. Not a pain, it feels more like that moment just before a cramp kicks in. It's not mega painful (I ran through it for that parkrun PB no bother), but I'm worried about aggravating it prior to the Great North 5K in less than a fortnight. It'll be my first proper race, having only started running in April, so I really don't want to jeopardise my chances of running well (or indeed, at all).

Any ideas as to what it is/what to do? My instinct is to rest it (I've missed a scheduled easy run tonight), but I don't want to lose the fitness I've built up before I race.

Cheers in advance for any help.
