I work at Gliffaes hotel running their fishing courses in the summer so should get the opportunity to do a bit of training on that road. I know it quite well ad I often go up there picking winberries and I also taught my son to navigate with a compass up there this summer while we were camping in Pencelli.
Looking at the route it comes out of llangynidr and over and up the switch backs on to the moor.
Bummer, I thought the date for this was early June. I'm already booked up for the long course weekend in Tenby and to pasify the wife have arranged a few days away the weekend before. The same weekend as the Brecon event
Over the last couple of weeks I have managed to recce the whole of the bike course for this now. I am glad I did so no surprises.
Saturday I did the final climb up from Llangynidr to Tredegar. I had to take a few short breaks on the way up to get the blood back into my legs especially after the 300mtrs of 28%. Fantastic descents too.
Loved it, hard, hilly, pictured and cramped. But two hard 100+ milers in two weekends so I know I've got then endurance, just need some speed and more strength on the hills
