Ben, the leaderboard totals still don't tally up with people actual running mileage when you look at their activity. Look at Minni who was top of the table and then look at their actual activity. A random check of a few shows up the same thing. There's a bug somewhere that can't add up.
I have been using Garmin Connect automatically for quite a long time. Also, I upload each new run file to Fetch so I have a parallel copy. I also sometimes use a Wahoo knicknack on my iphone that will receive from the watch so I can upload to Connect eg if on holiday, without a computer. I would miss this if I moved.
I also spent quite a lot of time putting all my available records into Fetch so that i have my running history back to 2005, so I wouldn't want to switch without some compelling reason and ability to batch export and import. Fetch, for example will also export to Excel IIRC.
I can't remember the exact set-up, but I believe CopyMySports also had a batch option. Perhaps RW should look into what this app is doing and see if there is anything that could be done to encourage people to migrate using something similar.
I'm enjoying using Runhub - I like it's simplicity, I'm on Fetch..but quite frankly I find it a little too complicated (maybe that's just me ).
There seem to be some funny mileages being logged...think I saw that someone had run over 100 miles in one go and someone else appeared to have uploaded 2 sets of data from 2 devices...guess the whole site will rely on people being honest, especially when it comes to the challenges etc..
Anyway - loving the site so far, it's definately helping me keep motivated and wanting to log miles!
Glad to hear you're enjoying it and thanks for the migration ideas.
There will be flagging functionality coming soon to highlight problematic activities, but most are just user error and we're monitoring the leaderboards to make sure that anything like 100 mile long runs are corrected. Unless of course, you have run 100 miles!
I'm keeping an eye on my totals as this month nearly all running has been on the treadmill and Garmin is showing 2 miles less than the treadmill so may have to 'correct' that at the end of the month
Very good but, if I could be bothered to re-calibrate the footpod for each run (different paces/shoes) then they'd match up - at MP in 'normal' shoes it's less than 0.01 difference per mile
The most popular data capture devices are I suppose Nike+ (via iphone or a nike watch) and some kind of Garmin device. I use Garmin and manually hack the data into Nike+.
My Runhub auto syncs to my nike+ account which is great. Given the choice though id much rather runhub autofed from my garmin connect since that has heartrate data, maps etc. Its a real shame, and pretty shortsighted on garmin;'s side if they dont want to let that happen.
Hi just want to say how much I really enjoy the runhub I usually use map my run it would be great to sync both oh by the way Ben enjoyed run hub so much I now have subscribe to runners world something I should have done ages ago just makes me feel part of a bigger community ????
I've just discovered RunHub and would like to join. have a question for you all - I have quite a few training runs to log from 1st January onwards - is it ok to log these runs retrospectively? (I'll be doing it manually but have kept an accurate training diary) ....also anyway to upload them without the notification thing appearing on here??....have 20+ runs to log and it could get bit tiring having them all appear!
Thanks
I'm not sure if anyone else has specific targets - mine is just to keep running and logging my runs will be good as I dont use any technology like a Garmin but I do like to plan my weeks training sessions.
Hi life's to short can't see any reason why you can't log your runs don't have a Garmin myself only a iPhone have to log mine in manually
May target is a marathon and a couple of ultras which sounds rather grand but I just want to keep running and use that to convince the wife that I need to be out there running at stupid hours
Can you please all chill out and stop running for a couple of weeks, these charts are addictive, and I want to be higher up in them. Please don't suggest anything silly like I should run more All of you taking a holiday will work equally well
I just can't stop it's like a drug???? I look at the leader boards and voices in my head goes you got to do better we must be under some hypnosis why else would I go out between 4:30 - 5 in the morning in this weather
Ok... This might seem petty, but when you click upload at the top you then get 5 options to choose from four of them being different file formats.
So you choose any of these four formats, then you get presented with a please upload your file... and it can be in any format, so why have the choice of four options when you can upload the same file from any of the 4.
Should it not be Upload your file as one option and you click on it and it already says in x, y, or z format... that's all you need don't need the four initial options
just uploaded a bunch of gpx files that I had to download individually from the Garmin Connect site. In the Garmin Connect site they are all tagged as Activity = Running, in the Runhub site they are all tagged as Activity = Cycling! wtf!?!
Will these activities count towards any of my challenges or will the all be disregarded as they are tagged as cycling?

Thanks JT, I'll pass this on the developers.

Ben RW - thanks. I see you can sync to your nike+ account. I keep that one up to date so problem solved.

As an experiment I started using Runkeeper recently. In its settings I installed an extra app called CopyMySports. This automatically fetches any new runs I add to Connect, so it is a no-pain addition for me, and gives me an alternative home if I ever decide to drop Fetch or Connect. But I don't have all the old records in Runkeeper.
I can't remember the exact set-up, but I believe CopyMySports also had a batch option. Perhaps RW should look into what this app is doing and see if there is anything that could be done to encourage people to migrate using something similar.
+1 for the option to import from my garmin but keep the maps private

Yeah those at the top are going to get upset when someone comes in next week and puts this weeks running in... .Just done The Spine...
I'm keeping an eye on my totals as this month nearly all running has been on the treadmill and Garmin is showing 2 miles less than the treadmill so may have to 'correct' that at the end of the month
Ahhh but how do you know which one is accurate, have you marked and measured your treadmill
Very good but, if I could be bothered to re-calibrate the footpod for each run (different paces/shoes) then they'd match up - at MP in 'normal' shoes it's less than 0.01 difference per mile
Yeah lol! Booktrunk,us Ultra runners will put in a few miles im sure

Hi David, that's great to hear. Welcome to the bigger community!
Life's Too Short - get logging! It won't be tiring at all to see you've spent January, you'll just be catching up with every one else.
Good luck with all the targets, if you need any training plans, there are plans available in RunHub and the app is coming very soon!
Dear runhubbers,
Can you please all chill out and stop running for a couple of weeks, these charts are addictive, and I want to be higher up in them. Please don't suggest anything silly like I should run more All of you taking a holiday will work equally well

just love the community feeling????
Ok so downloaded runhub app, but I cannot find a code in my profile to sync it up? Is this enabled yet, and if so where do I need to look o find it?
You can get that here - http://runhub.runnersworld.co.uk/mobile
Log in, click the link and on the mobile page you can generate a unique pin and then enter it into the the app to sync it up.
Thanks that worked.
Oh happy days I didn't know that was there ????
is there anyway I can ad a heart rate monitor to it ????
Ignore.... Stupid comment, lesson of which is autopause is enabled by default!

Sorry if I seem a pedant.

Change them from cycling to running to be on the safe side, you can just go in and edit them.
Maybe you are sooooooooooo quick, they just assumed you were on a bike and not running.
thanks for that...I completely missed the edit button
