Cheap Foreign Races?

I'm scouting out an early autumn half marathon and I really fancy going abroad to do one.

snag is I don't have much disposable income so was wondering if anyone had any tips on foreign events I could get to cheaply that aren't much to enter and have either good campsites, hostels or cheapo hotels nearby.

I'm thinking Budapest might be good. Any suggestions?
