Don't tell me I actually am the 'old curmudgeon' of the thread (as so delicately put by MM) at the tender age of 44. (45 on Monday) - There must be some older bugger than me in here...anyone??.. good news is my WAVA rockets and I go up a vets category so when I get back at it proper like I should be in a good place.
Sports tracks is OK, but I ask as I am sure there much be better out there.
Pretty unlikely I'll do an autumn one this year. Just impractical, I'm afraid. So I removed myself from the list above. Good luck all. Hope to see you on the spring thread!
Madbee: think his bingo comment above just cemented that in stone
15West: best of luck with the run, its hot out there so make sure you've got plenty of water.
15.6 miles this morning at 8.24 average. Extremely hot out there and knees/calfs killing, new shoes definitely needed been like this for the last 2 weeks now
Not too hot in Manchester. High teens this morning. Run went fairly well, was bloody hard work etc etc, but not as bad as thought it was going to be. 7mi at about 8ish pace, then 8 at 6.25ish pace, then 2 at v slow ish pace. The slightly cooler temperatures and slightly less humidity makes a lot of difference, don't feel totally wiped out.
Good running in the heat Scott, JR and 15W chalking off the first MP run of the schedule.
JR other than for shorter distance races when I wear flats,I train in the same shoes as I'll use on marathon day, rotating a couple of pairs and leaving a new pair for taper and race day.
Menn oh so close for your lot today, a case of should have been and there for the taking.....
6 for me today ahead of a slower version tomorrow of what 15W did today.
15 miles @7:58 pace this morning in about 17c for me. Felt good (not too warm) after a week of chopping and changing the schedule and a crappy run in Saharan temperatures. Nice to get that one over you 15West.
Some good running going on today in the heat - well done to all and good luck to those heading out tomorrow. Now relaxing with a few cheeky chilled ones and some salty snacks
Comments
Use sport tracks and garmin connect.
Congratulations on the graduation Scott.
No idea what that is but it sounds tasty!! Is it a type of Kebab?
A Strava kebab for you Wenty.
Looks tasty!
hmmm tasty thanks Ramjet - no Doner kebab though.
Some beautiful strides in there though!
Cheers guys, seems like I am single handedly propping up the youth side of this thread then
Time for a lovely BBQ in the garden tonight to fuel up for tomorrow morning's long run
I've just been to the pub to fuel up.
I just use garmin connect, is sport tracks any good then?
Scott ignore the old curmudgeon that goes by the name of Menn, youthful exuberance is a plus.
11 d&d here and less of a toil in the heat with better hydration. Now the 17 with 8MP to look forward to on Sunday, not!
Me too!
England about to go out. Costa Rica poops all over England.
Evening,
Scott - GA 8-8:20. Recovery 9ish. Congrats on your graduation!! I'm the wrong side of 30...
Wenty - not a case of more muscle more speed then
MM - good session there. Do you wear your racing day shoes on the MP runs? Thinking about doing so this time round.
Good luck BT!
An enjoyable rest day - off to pub!
Well another World Cup goes by....oh well! Well done to Costa Rica though, were 50-1 to top the group before it started.
Oh so there are a few other 'youngish' people on this thread then
Cheers for that JR: looks like I will try speeding up my GA runs a bit
actually I lied.

Sorry to see you go Nose Nowt. Enjoy your running over the summer in the meantime. We'll cross paths again no doubt
Nose Nowt: sorry to hear you won't be doing an autumn one, got any targets for shorter races instead?
Sorry to hear that Nose Nowt...have a good summer.
Off to walk dog soon, then it's the dreaded 17mi with 8@mp. Looking forward to this being over.
I'm going to be concentrating mainly on bingo.
Madbee: think his bingo comment above just cemented that in stone

Scott - nice MLR, are you just going to replace existing shoes?
NN - Enjoy the summer running.
Might register with garmin connect to keep a record of this campaign.
5.2 miles @ 9 dead. Concur, it's hot But I was foolish enought to go at mid-day.

Nice running Scott.
JR: think may replace with same shoes as seemed to do the trick, or by something else from Sweatshop (big sale starting today)
Nice recovery JR and sounds nice running weather where you are 15West, well done Too hot here for running!
