i know there are loads of these on the net but i wanted some advice as to which is the best from people that actually use them!
need to get one as a Christmas pressie for my fella - his dog is a fairly well trained labrador though she can pull at the start of a run.
can anyone recommend any decent hands free leads that wont break on the first go??
thanks all!!

buy him some dog training lessons. much more valuable long term. my dog is lab sized and when running with me she will only pull if she sers grass and needs a no2. also my dog pulled ehen i first got her(a rescue), hst lasted 2 weeks until i got sick of tryingvto control her physically. it then took one week to teach her not to pull.
oh and these handsfree leads... are they kept with the tartan paint?
a few months ago I purchased a ruffwear lead and harness, around £100 for the pair-expensive but worth every penny.
My Weimaraner goes on most of my runs, she will run at least 50 miles a week. The beauty of the harness is it stops any strain on her neck from pulling and the lead ring is in a very easy place to attach the lead to on the run.
The lead itself (about £35 i think) has a adjustable loop which goes around your waist. It has some elastic in it to cushion sudden pulls, and a handle so it can be used in the hand easily. Most of our miles are on trails so she is off the lead-when this is the case the lead can wrap around your waist and fasten in place.
What are you looking to do with it? is it for canicross? or just a general running harnass? I have a SASA running belt that works a treat and cleans very easily. There are also some good ones from K-9 that I can recommend.
just general running - I live in Jersey and there are no canicross events over here - yet!!
She only really pulls a bit when first out on a walk/run (unless she sees a cat!!) but is still pretty young and aside from that, is very well trained. The harness one sounds perfect as i dont want to put any strain on her at all - i will have a google, thanks Running Eye.
any recomendations would be great Emmy - thank you.

I was recommended this site and cannot recommend the quality enough.
I have this one: http://www.sassdogequipment.co.uk/dog-walking-belt/walking-belt-bungy/
Boyska has one like this: http://www.sassdogequipment.co.uk/dog-harnesses/tracking-harness/
a harness will encourage a dog to pull bevause there is no discomfort from pulling likenthere is when they pull when wearing a collar.
I'd have to disagree there. It's how you train them. My dog has two harnesses: one for running and one for walking. He knows the difference between each of them and doesn't pull on the dog walking harness.
thanks Emmy - thats fab!!
would love to canicross with her but for now i will have to do my own thing!
Trixxee - I don't do canicross with mine. We run every day for his exercise but also run trail marathons together. I've done one race with him but he got so excited with all of the other dogs around - he couldn't focus!
This will give you an idea of his harness.
saw this today.
