London marathon 2016

im hoping to enter the London Marathon through "good for age" in 2016.

im travelling from Scotland with my husband and 4 children and would like to make a weekend of it to include sightseeing and visiting attractions etc

can anyone suggest some good accommodation that could would do us all and that's easy to travel to start and finish with minimum train /underground changes (especially to the start) and which won't cost the earth?

Stay in the centre and then its just one train from Charing Cross to the start and you can walk back to your base after the finish.



Plenty of hotels around and even serviced apartments that might be best for the children ?

Thank you Cougie!  I've booked a serviced apartment in Covent Garden, apparently about 0.5  miles from Charing Cross.  Thanks again for your advice and hope it all goes to plan!
