someone can do 17 of them....bloody hell!! That is seriously difficult.
Im not sure how many I could do now - maybe I could force out two or three as I do lots of pressups to compliment my running training, but even back in my boxing days When I did loads of upper body strength training I could only really manage about 8 proper ones.
Much of climbing is about balance and poise, but a serious dose of endurance strength never did any harm. I wish that I'd got my runner's calves when I was doing Alpine ice climbing, I could have been much better! (or dead).
Another upper body/reach training game is the bottle reach.
You need 2 old fashioned coke bottles, or in dire emergency beer bottles. Keeping both feet behind a chalk line you walk your hands out using the bottles as far as you can reach without touching the ground. Then holding yourself up with one bottle you gently move the other one as far ahead as you can. Obviously it has to remain standing up. Then the hard bit is to get back behind the line without touching the ground. Aim for 2.00m
HEALTH AND SAFETY WARNING. DON'T USE BOTTLES. MAYBE BOTTLE SHAPED SKITTLES COULD BE USED.
I can reach as far as I will ever be able to reach - tippy tips of my outstretched fingers, with a delicate push to stand the bottle up a few inches further.
Wouldn't surprise me if ultra Angelis can totter across the room on the bottles then hop his way back on just one, feet never touching the ground.
I made a mistake this weekend and attempted to do a one armed press up. I used to be able to do a few. All I managed was to pull a neck muscle. It took me 10 minutes of stretching to get back to normality!

How long can you hold that bridge position for - the basic core stab thing in the previous RW issue ?
It's ironically much easier if someone lies on top of you as a counterbalance, but I won't even attempt to describe the position!

years ago at some Carlsberg promotion evening in a pub they had that game but using unopened cans of lager.
I won it and got a crate of beer - one of the few things I have ever won in my life!!
Not sure how far I got it out to though and it must be said that the competition werent exactly lean athletes....LOL.
