I recently run just under 50 minutes in a 10k race the pace would be in the region of 8.20 m/m. Now I hope to run a 1.50 half marathon and that works out at 8.40 m/m. could I keep the 8.40 m/m pace for the half, or will I run out of steam?
I hope you do better than me CC. As I did the half on Sunday in 2hours, I was very disappointed! I did the Eastbourne HM which had a tuff hill at the start and did not have any mile markers (that I could see) so judging my pace was difficult.
i think long runs are the key,i did a half last weekend in 1.49 but the last two miles were hell....more long training runs needed i think, a few at 14-15 miles before i attempt the next half'

So, yeah - I reckon you could. Just make sure you do feel comfortable running 12/13 miles before hand (that comfort is relative, mind).
Keep it steady and then push at the end
Good luck.
With a sub-50 10K you ought to get close to a 1:50 IF (as Kath says) you are comfortable with the distance.
Good luck with you attempt.
