Just a quickie. Anyone there? RichK? Why Dublin? What attracted you to enter? Any ideas why it might be better than other races you've done? Going for a quick run...back later
oh gawd - she's stood me up again. You can take this dominatrix thing too far you know!
Couple of things. To cut a long story short I'm doing Dublin 2002 as a direct result of having done the same race in 1990.
A long and winding road from one to t'other of course - how many words are you looking for?
What was the other thing? It was always going to be one of the better races I'll have done because I'm looking forward to a week away with some mates, having shared the peaks and troughs of marathon training together. Some of us are old hands (or should that be old feet?), some are virgins, and there's been a lot of mutual support and sharing along the way.
Now of course, at the risk of embarrassing myself and everybody that sees this, there's the added attraction and anticipation of meeting my new virtual friends. Looking forward to that too.
Will that do for now Snicks?
Gotta go for a while, daughter ailing and in need of tlc, and washing machine needs attending to. Ah the joys!
PS - to paraphrase old Mr Grace - "you've all done very well" today.
Good posting indeed. Although I see the New Yorkers are getting a little excitable. Something to do with registraion papers and tickets turning up I think.
Love the new you - but why the Monsters inc baby? I've just had a disaster. I went for my 'quick run' and didn't even get started. Cramp. I ate a bit bowl of fruit and fibre about 30 mins before, and I'm hoping that was it. But I literally could not move. Does this mean I'm really unfit? Help insecure Snicks needs reassuring. Now back to work. Ta for the why Dublin answer RichK, it's more like background to a feature.
BK could be on to something there Snicks - too much blood in the alcohol stream!
Haven't finished the Dublin answer yet! Surely you recognised an abridged richk answer when you saw one?
Snicks you're fine - we're all feeling grotty this week - it's typical taper time!! You'll be fine, the girl Snicks is gonna do good - you see. You're under a lot of stress with all these deadlines as well as doing PR for a certina Irish marathon
that's www.connamarathon.com folks
and worrying when the au pair's going to return - or even if she is by all accounts . .
you're going to be great on the day, as we all are.
Do you ever stop running? Make sure you take it easy for the rest of the week, won't you.
Tell that Simon of yours to leave his Championship Manager alone (ooer) and let you at the PC so you can chat with us in Dublin after dark!!! Hope Simon recovers.
What have you been doing in Manchester today? 3 earthquakes!!!! Was that you? Wow!!!! I'm impressed.
tigerrunner - sorry to hear about the blister. I've just picked up a new one in a new location this weekend.
Like the man said, go for Compede or something similar. Asda do their own, for example. Compede are good though coz you can get small little toe sized ones.
Thanks RK, I'm now reassured - bloated, but reassured. I s'pose I'm getting a bit complacent - even an athlete couldn't run well after a bowl of fruit and fibre - could they?
The new me has a name you know!! Monsters Inc baby indeed!! Pah!!
That's BOO to you Snicks.
She's a top actress - I've got her entire body of work on DVD, and why she didn't sweep the Oscars ranks alongside the disappearances of Lord Lucan and the crew of the Marie Celeste as one of life's great mysteries!
I,m more of a "Just Right" or even "Cheerios" type person. Toast and honey and by this time having had 2 glasses of water and 1 of orange juice, it has to be an early start on Monday for me.
Hi all, Just in from my NYCM Croí meeting. 40 of us going. All received registration info on time. No problems. In fact no point in going over to the other place at all........... not even to plug the connerichksnicksathon.com
Hope all is ok snicks. I didn't run this evening either, and I a week behind you guys.
I reckon a start of around 5:30 or 6:00 is possible on Monday, nerves are bound to be shot completely anyway, just hope I can keep going till Temple bar time. I am off to Edinburgh for a couple of days with the family tomorrow so I expect at least a hundred posts by then. RK are you still wanting company for the walk to the brekkie run? When and where? Now those questions sound familiar...

www.connamarathon.com Ray?
Missed a trick there boy!
Nice pic. Who is it?
Anyone we should know?
When are we guessing your age?
Don't you have to drink lime juice and eat cabbage or something?
Captain Cook would know!
Figured your age. I have to declare that I cheated and so must not enter your competition BUT I am open to bribes!!
Not as honourable as all that!
For those who are flying on Ryanair.
Remember it's a no frills airline.
TAKE YOUR OWN FRILLS!!!!!
