ADIDAS ADVERT

Had to post this on the training thread people, thought this was just such a great advert!

Just seen a truly remarkable advert on the tv for Adidas's new Impossible in Nothing campaign.

The clip is only 1 minute long but I thought it was truely inspiring.

In "The Long Run", football stars Beckham and Zinedine Zidane, sprint Olympian Maurice Greene, running legend Haile Gebrselassie, record-setting swimmer Ian Thorpe, basketball star Tracy McGrady and Ali's champion boxing daughter Laila are composited in to join Ali on his famous 1974 run in Zaire before the fight with George Foreman, which he was expected to lose. Ali's other daughter Hanna offers on the voiceover: "Even though critics may doubt you, it's OK to believe that there is no impossible". (Ali went on to beat Forman.)

Before the rumble in the jungle fight in 1974, Ali apparently told journalists at a press conference something on the lines of "behave or my friends here will put you in a pot and eat you"

Not surpringsly he was criticised for reinforcing racial stereotypes, but typical Ali wit.

gtir - I loved the advert with him and his daughter. His footwork, athleticism and attitude are incredible. And I don't even like boxing!

Great advert, but who would come 2nd to Geb if they were all racing a 5k?

My money would be on Beckham.
