A Question?

Which is more beneficial for say an 8 mile run:

4 miles at lunch time and then 4 miles in the evening

Or...

just 8 miles in one go?

Have you got an 8 mile race coming up?

I think for training purposes an 8m run is better. For weight loss 2 x4m may have the edge on basis keep metabolism raised for longer

No haven't got an 8 mile race, but I usually run for an hour and cover 8 miles. I don't race, just do it for fitness and I like running.

mmmmm just I can run at lunch today and after work, but don't have much time after work. So trying to decide if I should run twice or just the once.

If it's a one off I don't think it matters too much. Two 4's in this context doesn't equal 8. Maybe run lunch slow and after work fast, for the fun of it!

BR, I have always been told that doing the 8 miles is better than two lots of 4 but as Jelly Bean says you might find it fun to do an easy 4 and then a fast 4.

At the end of the day everyone needs variety in their training now and again to keep the interest up and not wallow in the comfort zone.

Have fun whatever you decide on.
