Extra Wide Trail Shoe for Women-?

I am looking for an extra wide trail shoe. My feet measure a 3E in a size 6. It seems only mens sizes go up to 4e. I am sifting my way through the mens 4e's that I can find online. I've tried four 4Es so far and none of them have been wide enough (they have fitted like a 2E). None of them are trail shoes either. I'm currently trying a New Balance 1080V6 in a 4e but it is a weird fit and certainly not a trail shoe. I get such painful callouses from shoes that are too narrow for me. Any suggestions from the running community would be so welcome!

Have you tried the Merrell line of trail shoes?  They tend to be quite wide and generous in the toe box.
