Sunday 8th October 2017: all my troubles seemed so far away

Morning!

Lyrics: all my troubles seemed so far away.
Now it looks as though they're here to stay

Yesterday's lyrics were: I Feel Fine, The Beatles

What: push some weight through the Achilles again

Why: doing what I'm told. Yesterday Achilles felt reasonable but today it is tender to touch. Seems to be here to stay!

Hope to hear of decent races from LMH and Wabo. Can't remember if anyone else is pinning a number on.
Progress is rarely a straight line. There are always bumps in the road, but you can make the choice to keep looking ahead.

    Morning.

Hot, humid and with torrential showers this morning - scattered thunderstorms predicted - could be an interesting race!

I’m not expecting much Alehouse, just looking forward to the experience. Hope your Achilles settles.

    Enjoy your run OH.

    What:           Pinkalicious 10k
    Why:             Why not.
Last hard:     Finding something pink to wear (I don’t do pink)
    Last rest:      30/9

    Lyrics - of course.
If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.

Come on Ale....we need your sense of purpose and optimism here. :-)
OH You can take it in your stride
    LMH: run well
    What: Bisley 10k
Why: seemed like a good idea
    Last hard: Today mile 5
Last Rest: Calming down to get the last 3k out of the way
    Lyrics: Yes
Minor wobble and lost  a sub 50 courtesy of 3.30 plus r'n'r on a rather undulating course. Running low 8's and one high 7 all really comfortable and happy then it was decided...not today
Achilles as it should be according to physio i.e. tender and I should not be stressed about it...really?
See what tomorrow brings. Look forward to the odd good race report later.

Sorry to hear your race didn’t go as hoped SC. No date for your op yet?

It was so humid here this morning that an hour after finishing the race I was still soaked through. An interesting race, fortunately we arrived with plenty of time to spare as they brought the start forward 20 minutes! A nice course through a nature reserve/park though the 10% incline from the start was a little testing especially without time to warm up! A bit twisty turny, two 180 turns, mostly on concrete but with a section over some boardwalk and two laps for the 10k with 5 and 10 Khoi gets off together. Unsurprisingly not a fast time for me, averaged less than my MP of two weeks ago but fast enough to take third overall and first female. Mark won his age group too. A lovely atmosphere afterwards with free bbq and soda for runners.
If you think you can or you think you can't you're probably right.

    Well done LMH and Mark.
    I don't do pink either ...

Sc: sorry yours didn't quite go to plan. Hope no ill effects.

    Ouch poppy. Be careful.

Nothing much to report here. Arrived in torrential rain which cleared while we were getting settled into our little holiday cottage :)

Then walked 7k around town. Very picturesque here. Will try and post a pic.
