Istanbul Marathon 2018

Is anyone on here entering the 2018 Istanbul Marathon or have run in previous years Istanbul Marathon/Half Marathon?

Hi Andy, I did the marathon in 2012.  I enjoyed it - mostly flat, weather was good that year (bright but not too hot), good crowd support and of course the backdrop of what I think is an incredible city.  There is a long out and back along the coast in the second half which could be tricky if its windy.  If I remember rightly, a lot of the water stations were also handing out apple and sugar lumps which didn't really work for me.  Great finish outside the Blue Mosque.  However, I do remember that on the old forum there was someone who had had medical problems which he said turned into a bit of a nightmare.  In my view, definitely worth doing
