Anyone Ran in Africa Before?

I'm looking to run a marathon somewhere in Africa. Ideally east or west Africa, possibly central Africa.

I was wondering if anyone on here has ran anywhere there before?

Did a bit of Googlin' and found this image from the Kilimanjaro Marathon:

The folks at marathoninvestigation.com and letsrun would be positively apoplectic at the baby rhino's lack of race number and the fact it joined in midway through the marathon.

That said, my African running experience is limited to 3 or 4 beach runs in The Gambia - they didn't differ to any other beach runs I've done.
