Inov8 X-Claw substitute and how to look after your trail shoes.

Hi all. I have recently destroyed my Inov8 x-claws after approximately 300 miles of coast path and bog. I don't feel that 300 miles is a particularly good mileage before a trail shoe fails. Am I wrong? 

If I was to replace them, what for? I like the low foot drop, deep, lugs, and relative lack of cushion. Basically everything apart from the fact that they have given up. Is there anything similar worth taking a punt on?

Also, I rinse down and put my shoes in a boiler room to dry out. Has drying them out quickly contributed to them coming apart?
