Erratic HR reading

Oook!

My Fenix 5 is now consistently reading ridiculously high during warm up/easy (150+)  but seems to readjust to something believable (100) after 5-10 minutes of really, really slow running. Any suggestions?

Do you run with a HR strap? Watches can be very inaccurate! My Fenix6 had my HR at 217 after a very slow swim, it was because of the chemicals in the pool/my soap.

If it is settling down then go with the lower reading. Alternatively take a HR reading manually when it is reading high.

However a strap is a really good investment.
