Friday 13th October 2023 The best things in life are free

Lyrics: The best things in life are free
But you can give them to the birds and bees

Not sure if we have had these recently.

What: something short

Why: work plus not feeling at my best
Progress is rarely a straight line. There are always bumps in the road, but you can make the choice to keep looking ahead.

  • Morning (uggh it is Friday the 13th folks)

Sorry to hear you have been ill Ale.  Take it easy.

Good to get in some XC practice Dustin - hopefully a bit of mud here and there.

Fingers crossed regarding the travel Els but it doesn't sound great somehow. Would be a shame to miss an opportunity for the family meetup.  Like the sound of holey waterproof socks.

Good luck with the streak Pammie.  More sleep today?

What: not much more than a walk and a brief cycle to collect my Mtb from repairs (hope it is finished)
Why: rest day, longer run planned for tomorrow.
    Last rest: 13.10.23

    Lyrics: really should know these!
  • Lyrics, maybe!
    Ale get better!
    Hazel, lots of biking!
Well I'm across the water but got 4.5 hours to spend in thurso before next train goes as ferry was predictably late in...however expected that. Crossing was ok if sat still with eyes shut for most of it! No more boats til late sun so glad I got here but have to spend a night in Inverness tonight. Friends also off to see grandkids didn't get on boat as no room for their car.
Exercise for today may well be the 3m walk into thurso from ferry with bags. A lovely local lady did stop and offer a lift but needed something to occupy my time. Waves coming over harbour wall.
Now off to station for a while!!

Els rough waters up your way

    Pammie - good streaking!
Els - everyday is an adventure! Safe travelling
Hazel - hope the bike is as good as new
Ale - keep it easy until you feel more chipper

What - 6.5 miles , middle 4 a bit tempoesque. Had contemplated some 300s but after 2 I felt so flat that I took up plan 'B' instead
    Why - flexibility
    last rest - 21/09
last hard - that was a little bit tiring
    lyric - yes

  • Afternoon!

Glad that you managed the crossing, Els!

Plan B is good sometimes, Dustin!

    Good consistency, Pammie!

The bike is in good order, Hazel

    What: 16 minutes easy, allegedly

Why: definitely plan B. Was going to hit a parkrun quite hard tomorrow; body says otherwise. Still feeling rough!
Progress is rarely a straight line. There are always bumps in the road, but you can make the choice to keep looking ahead.
  • Stay away from parkrun then Ale and keep it v easy!
In Inverness after a long day. Pretty tired!
